On Ender, kids can join supervised rooms based on what they want to play.
Some kids enjoy playing in the main lobby with the host and other kids in a larger group setting, while some like to break out into smaller groups to complete an activity together. To do this, a kid can join a Breakout Section.
These Breakout spaces are self-organized and created by kids to able to interact in a smaller group within the game. As kids meet each other in rooms, they can join or form breakouts to play and do activities in smaller groups. Breakouts allow them to go deeper on a specific interest with kids who share that interest, or get a private place to play with kids they met in rooms.
Specifically, kids will use Breakout Sections to do the following:
Get to better know other kids you’ve met in the club
Privately play with friends you’ve already made
Play specific games and activities based on your interest
✋ Each Breakout Section also comes with a virtual hand raising feature that kids can use anytime to get 1:1 help from a host within minutes. Today, we’re making it easier for kids to find breakouts and form their own while they’re in rooms with breakout sections, so they can more easily find friends and play with existing ones.
How to Use Breakout Sections
There are two types of Breakout Room spaces:
Host-created Breakouts are to help kids go deeper on interests together and make friends around specific interests. These breakouts are made around specific activities within the game
Kid-created breakouts are organized and created to build deeper friendships by playing in a smaller, private group.
Using breakout sections is easy. Once a kid is connected to a room in a club, there will be a side bar on the left of the screen with a bunch of colored buttons and icons within them - these are the Breakout Room spaces!
It's as easy as 1-2-3:
Join the club and pick a room.
Choose a breakout section from the left side bar.
Click the section and join a breakout. Start talking and hanging out with other kids!
